Claire received her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology in 2009 at The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth in 2014. After finishing her graduate degree, she worked at Baylor College of Medicine as a physician assistant/instructor from 2015 to 2018. Claire managed pre-operative and post-operative care of patients on an outpatient and inpatient basis in the Division of General Thoracic Surgery and had an integral role in building the Thoracic Surgery Division, The Lung Institute, and the Mesothelioma Program by overseeing clinical operations, managing clinical staff, and leading weekly team meetings. Claire joined Kelsey-Seybold's Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine Department at the Berthelsen Main Campus in August 2018.

Dr. Petinia is thorough and has helped me come to a better understanding of how my Cpap functions. Instead of a quick status review, she listened to problems I was having with my machine and explained how to best correct them. She seems very concerned about my well being.
