After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2004, Dr. Wilkening earned his Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkley in 2009. His training included externships at the V.A. Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, California, and Kaiser Permanente Point West in Sacramento California.

He has been my. Dr for many years. My presciptions have been done well.He takes time to listen ,addressing my concerns.I have been blind in one eye for many years therefore I have trusted him to keep me from complete blindness .Over a year ago he saw I have wet macular degeneration and immediatly made an appointment for me to see Dr Joshua Udoetuk,who injects my eye every two months.I recommend highly both Doctors.

Dr. Wilkening is my preferred optometrist for years. I go out of my way for my eye exams with him because I trust his professional ability and advice. I believe he acts in my best interest.

My overall experience was very positive. Wait time after check in was minimal. Both the doctor and his assistant were professional and expeditiously completed my assessment. They gave helpful answers to my inquiries.
