After earning a degree in biology and German from Rice University in 1995, Dr. Johnston completed medical school at the National University of Ireland at Cork in 2003. Dr. Johnston completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2006 and a fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2008.

Dr. Johnston is extremely knowledgeable and caring. His personality and patient interaction makes my regular visits low stress, even when he has to do injections into my knee. One of the best (possibly THE best) doctor I’ve ever had.

I have been seeing Dr Johnston for about 6 years for my RA. He is very knowledgeable and works with me to control the RA. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment and they got me in early. I like that I didn't have to wait.

Dr Johnston is a fair, reasonable physician who has been treating me for an in-curable condition. The frustration is evident, but Dr Johnston remains an optimistic person and it matters. I’ve now had an opportunity to meet other specialists in the field, and remain unimpressed with the others. I would absolutely recommend Dr Johnston to a friend or family member.
