After earning her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in 1993, Dr. Lai interned at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. In 1996, she completed her residency in Baylor’s Physical Medicine and rehabilitation program before accepting a fellowship at The University of North Carolina with a focus in Musculoskeletal Medicine.

Dr. Lai listens to questions and gives answers even if it's not the ones you want to hear. She is very knowledgeable in her field seems to have my best interests in mind.

She was very kind, polite and soft spoken, it helped me control my anxiety because I find it difficult to be in a controlled environment, especially one that focuses on me. The only thing I would add is I wished the spine center itself were closer to home, because I live in Humble, and the traffic is very bad, I was constantly worried I would be late.

I like D r Lai, kindness , gentleness and willingness to listen to your questions and her taking time to answer you. When seeing Dr Lai you are treated as an individual person not as an assembly line production .

This was my first visit, and when the doctor opened the door and walked into the room smiling, I felt a calmness. She took her time to talk to me about my problem and involved me in the the options to treat it. I didn’t feel rushed and her doctor to patient relationship wowed me! She was very thorough, professional and warm. It was truly a favorable experience!
