After earning his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, in Washington D.C., Dr. Velez completed an internship in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City; and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, Florida. He completed fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Velez is an excellent doctor for many reasons including addressing my concerns, asking questions, providing the right medication and treatment during my doctor appointment resulting in total relief. I have been a patient of the doctor for several years. No complaints.

Doctor is good at explaining medical issues, and comunicates treatment options if needed in ways I can fully understand, trying not to use too many medical terms he and staff have great communication skills

Personable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to solving the problem. Excellent at injection into the knee, very little pain. Definitely would refer a new patient to him!

Very personable, knowledgeable and likes what he does! Gentle giving steroid injections. Could not have a better bedside manner!
