After earning his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, in Washington D.C., Dr. Velez completed an internship in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City; and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, Florida. He completed fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He listen patiently all of my concerns that I have about my knees. Took his time to explain me all about the problems I had. Gave me different options to treat my problem. It’s a Doctor that I highly recommend. It’s not easy to find I a Dr. that takes his time to listen and give you a good explanation of your situation.

Dr. Velez is very personable and engaging, without the "I'm the doctor and you're the patient" attitude. He answered my questions and suggested some pain relief options, and when I'm ready for more invasive treatment ("the shot in the knee"), I'll be back.

Dr. Velez is friendly, personable, and caring. He is very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain things to me and gave me different options to remedy the problem in my knees and lower back.
