After earning his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, in Washington D.C., Dr. Velez completed an internship in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City; and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, Florida. He completed fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Valez is personable and he thoroughly explained my medical condition, and he answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Besides that, he has a good sense of humor which I personally like.

Dr. Velez is an excellent doctor for many reasons including addressing my concerns, asking questions, providing the right medication and treatment during my doctor appointment resulting in total relief. I have been a patient of the doctor for several years. No complaints.
