An Amazing team. They moved closer to downtown. Kinda miss the 610 location since I reside in Oak Forest. Nevertheless, it's worth the drive to get honest, fair priced and second to none personlized service. Philip and the team are good people.

Phil and his team are the best in the business. Truly. I walked into his store the first time not knowing anything about cycling or bikes. I was overwhelmed and worried that someone would take advantage of my lack of knowledge. I owned a road bike from 2018, but that was about it. I’d begun training for an Ironman about 6 months prior (never cycled or done anything other than a sprint tri 6 years prior), and knew I needed to make some changes on my bike but wasn’t sure how much money to spend on a bike or parts or anything. Multiple people I trust who are cyclists and triathletes said that Shama is the only person they would go to and they trusted him implicitly-and they were right! I did a bike fitting with Phil, and he was incredibly patient (and trust me, I’m picky!..or as he says “discerning” :)). He took the time to make sure that every aspect of the bike was comfortable. He adjusted my brake hoods, changed my stem, and changed and adjusted my saddle and seat post. He switched out my pedals and clips, and we changed my crank length and installed a power meter. Afterwards, I rode the bike or a few weeks and if I felt like it needed adjustment, he welcomed me back and made some tweaks. He truly wants his customers to feel as comfortable as possible on the bike. And let me tell you, I didn’t know that riding a bike could be so comfortable! Every switch he made was a game changer for me. He also made sure to fully explain to me the cost/benefit of each part being switched out and made it cost-effective for my specific budget and needs. He took his time explaining the pros and cons of a new bike versus my current one, various bike parts that could be switched out and upgraded later, and fully left the decision in my hands without pressuring me to spend money I didn’t want to spend. He gave his honest opinions when asked, and his recommendations truly were based on my needs and wants, and not what would make his business the most money. He’s the definition of honesty in business and puts his customers above anything else. Phil and his team are passionate about what they do. They love cycling and they want you to love it too. I’ve met so many people in the store who have been long time customers of Phil’s and they all say the same thing. From people on racing teams to beginners, he treats everyone the same and is always offering the best service possible. I’ll never go anywhere else for bike parts, gear or even a new bike (because, let’s face it, we all know I’m buying a tri bike eventually from him…how could I not?! The enthusiasm there for cycling is contagious!).

Fantastic bike shop! I recently had a fitting for my new Tri bike that I didn't purchase there. I have never ridden a tri bike before so I didn't know how it should fit and feel compared to a standard road bike. Phil was very knowledgeable and didn't seem annoyed at my basic bike questions lol. The price for the fit was very fair and I never felt pressured into buying additional things. Overall great bike shop and for me is worth the drive downtown.

Not only are Phil and the entire Shama team experts in their craft, but they take serious pride in what they do (and it shows). From bike fits and new builds to routine maintenance, they always deliver an extremely high level of service. Phil often goes above and beyond what would be necessary to satisfy a customer because he truly has their best interest in mind. Best bike shop in Houston hands down and wouldn't bring my bike anywhere else.

Shama Cycles is hands down an amazing bike shop, especially for triathletes. Phillip will take care of your needs and answer all your questions. Great customer service 100%. I don't take my tri bike anywhere else.

Top to bottom a fantastic experience. Came in for a Tri bike within a certain budget and Phillip built the best bang for your buck bike I could have dreamed about. The quality of service and communication before, during, and after the build is next level. He really cares about his customers and the sport; It's so awesome to see. Buying a bike can be scary and a big investment but Phillip will set you straight with an awesome bike that fits your wants and needs so I highly stopping here for all your bike needs!

Can’t say enough about how positive my experience has been with these guys…
Being new to biking, it’s very intimidating to walk into bike shops for help… but this one is different. These guys go out of their way to take care of anyone who walks into the shop.
I brought my bike in Thursday evening before a race this past week and had to get a cable replaced (didn’t prepare them for that) along with some regular maintenance… My bike was a mess, but they had it done in less than 24 hours. Thank the good Lord for these guys!!!

2024 Update : I just purchased a new bike from Shama and what a great experience, from the purchase to making sure the bike fit perfectly upon delivery. It was a great experience. They really know their stuff and really work hard to get to the best bike for their customers. I love the new bike and appreciate the great service!
From 2022: They really take their time to listen, I had a great experience with the pro fitting, great attention to detail. They upgraded and fit me to my bike and did an incredible job. Highly recommended!
